On this page you can find some useful information about our class work in Phonics and Literacy, Maths and our foundation subjects for each half term. 

This half-term, in English we will be focusing on the book, ‘Toys in Space’ which is a fantasy story in which we find out what happens to some toys that are left out in the garden at the end of the day.

In Maths, children will be learning the beginning of multiplication and division by counting in 2s,5s and 10s and using these to work out different problems.  Children will find this a lot easier the more comfortable they are counting in these values, so a bit of practise at home would be great.  The children will begin to learn the basics of fractions including half and quarter of amounts, shapes and objects.  We will also be introducing time on an analogue clock.

In Geography we are going to be learning about countries in the UK and their capital cities.  We are going to learn about which capital cities belong to which country and find out about some famous landmarks in these countries.

This Half term 1J will be using Forest School on Fridays so Wellies would be very much appreciated.  Children will still need a PE kit for PE on Thursdays. 1H will be working with the sports coach on Fridays so PE kits are needed for all children.
