Our Current Topic for Autumn 2 is, ‘Toys’

This half-term, in Literacy we will be focusing on the book, 'Nibbles The Book Monster’ by Emma Yarlett. 

We will also look at a variety of other books during our topic about toys to help with History this half term. We are going to read a range of other texts for the children’s enjoyment.

In Maths, the children will be consolidating place value within 10 and being introduced to representations of additions and subtractions in different ways including part whole models, bar graphs, pictorial representations and number sentences.

Our afternoons will be where we focus on the foundation subjects.  We will be learning about how to join materials in DT with the ultimate goal of making a puppet.  Our History topic is about toys through different periods of time.  We will be looking at similarities and differences in PSHE.  RE will involve learning about the Christmas story.

This half term Bright Class will be having PE with our specialist coach so please make sure your child has a PE kit in school.
