Spring 2
Welcome to Nursery! On this page you can find some useful information about our learning each half-term. In Nursery, we cover the Prime areas of EYFS: Communication and Language, Physical Development and Personal, Social and Emotional Development. We also support and teach children the Specific areas of Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding of the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
We may also share pictures and news from other areas of learning and development across our EYFS curriculum.
Our Current Topic for Spring 2 is 'Old MacDonald Had a Farm! What can you find on a farm?'
This half-term, in Literacy we will be focusing on the books, 'Little Red Hen' and 'The Enormous Turnip'. We will be talking about the books we have read and using them in our play.
In Maths, the children will be focusing on length, height, mass and capacity. They will be making comparisons between objects and using a wide range of vocabulary such as 'tall', 'short' and 'long'.
As part of their Topic learning, children will be exploring how things grow and looking at the life cycles of plants and animals. They will also understand the need to respect and care for the natural environment and all living things. In addition, children will learn about the importance of healthy life choices such as exercise, eating healthy foods, personal hygiene, teeth brushing etc...
We are excited to show you our learning and what we have created.
Thank you, Mrs Aspden
