Welcome to Nursery! On this page you can find some useful information about our class work in all areas of our learning. We may also share pictures and news from other areas of learning and development across our EYFS curriculum. You will see below 'Star Folders' which will provide more detailed information on individual areas of learning, with links to support you and your child with their learning at home.
Our Current Topic for Spring 2 is, 'Old MacDonald had a Farm' and our key question is, 'What can you find on a Farm'?
This half-term, in Literacy we will be focusing on the books, 'Farmyard Hullabaloo' and 'Farmer Duck'. We will be talking about the familiar books we have read and recapping them in our play.
In Maths, we will be looking at 'Number' and counting objects beyond 5 using 1-1 correspondence. We will also be making comparisons between objects relating to their size, length, weight and capacity. As part of Understanding the World, we will be visiting the farm, planting seeds and talking about the life cycles of different plants and animals. As part of Expressive Arts and Design, we will be using observational skills to talk about what we can see and represent this through our drawings and paintings.
We will also be continuing to work on the School Readiness Objectives- in particular knowing and understand the importance of healthy life choices such as exercise, eating healthy foods, personal hygiene, teeth brushing etc…
Thank you, The Nursery Team
