Welcome to Nursery! On this page you can find some useful information about our class work in all areas of our learning. We may also share pictures and news from other areas of learning and development across our EYFS curriculum. You will see below 'Star Folders' which will provide more detailed information on individual areas of learning, with links to support you and your child with their learning at home.

Our Current Topic for Summer 2 is, 'Moving On, Moving Up' and our key question is, 'What have you done today, to make you feel proud'?

This half-term, in Literacy we will be focusing on the books, 'The Colour Monster goes to School' and 'Starting School'. 

In Maths, we will be looking at 'Composition of Numbers'. 

We will also be looking at 'Numbers to 5', what comes before and after and solving mathematical problems using numbers to 5. 

As part of Physical Development, we will be focusing on pencil and scissor control, using one-handed tools and equipment, for example, making snips in paper with scissors.

 As part of Understanding the World, we will be talking about going to school, changes with grown-ups and classes and the transition to Reception. We will also be talking about feeling proud, what proud means and why I should be proud of myself.

 As part of Expressive Arts and Design, we will be remembering and singing entire songs, singing the pitch of a tone sung by another person (‘pitch match’) and singing the melodic shape (moving melody, such as up and down, down and up) of familiar songs 

We will also be continuing to work on the School Readiness Objectives.
