The theater company visited us again with a fantastic production of The Little Princess.
There was singing, laughing and plenty of opportunity to 'boooo' the baddies!
The Little Princess was about overcoming bullies and learning to be kind to each other.
The Action Factory, Blackburn, brought Artist - Julia Swarbrick to work with the Nursery and Reception children over two days on a collaborative piece of art work.
The children carved things found at the beach into polystyrene pieces to make their own printing plates. They then used ink to print their plates onto 4 large canvas backgrounds.
The finished piece will be hung in the hall. It looks absolutely fantastic and as usual, our children were enthusiastic and enjoyed the experience.
Take a look at the photos of the children working. Photos of the finished artwork to follow soon!
We have been very lucky this week to have a visiting artist from The Lowry gallery.
Michelle Leigh - Fine Artist, came in to school and worked with year 1 and 2 children .
Michelle taught the children how to draw factories and houses, men and ladies from Lowry's time and how to draw things that were near and far away.
Each child produced a small sketch book called a 'looking log' and were amazed and very proud of their work!
We are hoping to display the work so that parents can see the finished pieces in the future.
Here are some photos of our little artists concentrating very hard!
The Lowry is a fantastic gallery in Salford, Greater Manchester. It has lots of exhibitions and activities for families. The gallery has free admission. Some of the workshops are less than £5! Why not have a family day out?

Thank you to all the parents who turned out for the Spring Sing! We had a lovely assembly singing songs about The Easter Bunny and new life.
Lots of awards were presented for Good News and 100% attendance.
We had some fantastic Easter Egg competition entries this year! You were very imaginative and lots of prizes were given throughout school.
Here are some of the wonderful eggs
Did anyone see the eclipse this morning? Some classes watched the live coverage on the news.
Mrs Goodwin took some brilliant photos! (Safety first: It was very cloudy and she looked through the camera screen and not directly at the sun!)
But what is an eclipse? Click on this link for more information...
